      SkinLobby - your CS:GO marketplace and trading hub   10/14/2016

      Hello! I'm sure most of you don't recall me, but that's fine. I'm not so active, especially now, when I super busy. I'm VPP's developer. I'm maintaining any backend jobs on the CVPP site, ad well am fixing issues Toan reports to me that needs to be fixed. For last few months, I've been working under CS:GO Skin site, about which you most likely knew nothing until now. We also been beta testing it for the past month or so, and I believe it's the time to let you guys try it by yourself. But before I do so, I'd like to tell you a bit about the project; At first, it supposed to be match betting site, with advanced pricing system, to escape from CSGOLounge's problem. Some of you might noticed, their pricing system wasn't always fair. That's because they were not putting any effort to get prices updated, they were updating them once new cases came out. BUT. Gambling with STEAM API got disallowed, and because I had such great base for CS:GO skin site, I thought I shouldn't dump the project. And that's how currentSkinLobby's idea turned into an actual project. SkinLobby is a marketplace platform built around the CS:GO trading community. On the backend, it's running bots finding safe price* for each item individually. Before I let you use it, please continue reading: SkinLobby is still in beta stage. It's missing a lot of features that will be implemented, and you might experience some bugs while using the site, therefore please don't panic, and I'd really appreciate if you would inform me about bugs you find. Either via STEAM, or under this post. (if that's security issue, please inform me in private).  Currently known bugs and problems are: Pricing system doesn't fetch all the items - temporary disabled.   Caution! You're going to experience some front-end ugliness. As I'm a backend developer, and my graphic designer had just little, I was forced to design the site by myself.     Hi, Thank you for your application for the position of Server Administrator, Your meet the requirements and are legible to take the online Admin Exam that is used to analyse if you are capable of being an effective Community Admin. Since there isn't any TF2 dedicated Admin test, I will design one ready for you to take over the weekend. You can read the standard admin materials since we run sourcemod on all our games and some admin concept applies in General Administration duties anyway such as dealing with Spammers. You can find the study materials here, some information you can discard as it does not apply to TF2. I will let you know when the Admin Test is ready, if don't have to take the test straight away once it is released you can take it within 7 days of it being released to you.   3. Hi, Thank you for your request. I have investigated this and like you have mentioned his SteamID you have stated is not banned according to our system and has not been blocked entry. If you could please ask the player to either screenshot or be able to state the full error message he gets when connecting to the servers he is unable to connect to. If he is able to connect to the server within the next hour or so now I can monitor the Server Console and see if any error messages are posted in the console log. If you can also ask him when was the last date and possibly time he last connected successfully to one of our servers and which server it was. If he could also submit a copy of his console by pressing the developer key and copy what is posted in console after he has been disconnected for the server. We all love the chatbox that is implemented for our website but since it has been implemetned onto our Forums, it has been also used for Support along with spam and some users spamming the chatbox to get attention for support. We have forums for a reason. Please use the appropriate forums when submitting a Support Request. Still unsure where to post your request? View our Support Hub here I know it is quick and easy just to use the chatbox, but the chatbox is for casual chat and it would be more tidier if chatbox is purely for casual chat and important information. Our Admins are instructed to scramble teams when the teams are unbalanced (skill wised) as for player count wise, the new update has been designed to keep the team numbers even and prevent players joining mid way through a game and joining the winning team. This new system does not include detecting each players skill level, it is not that advanced and is extremely technical and advanced to implement. At times, there may be no Admins online in the server and I solution that could be implemented but highly unlikely is the option for players to start a scramble vote when no Admins are on the server. There are very few options to keep the Teams balanced skill wise when there is no Admins in the server but we are always looking into options to deal with this issue and to improve the Player Experience. If giving players to ability to initiate Scramble Votes is the solution or not, it is hard to say, it can be abused but also can balance teams but again, the system will not always work, yes it may balance but it may keep the highly skilled players all on the same team as any system valve or not, would not be able to scramble based on skill (K:D and Score) it may seem like a easy logic system to create looking at each players score but the coding behind such system is actually very complex which not everyone will realise, trust me creating a system that can do this is very complicated and that's why no such system exits. Admins should be scrambling Teams when appropriate to make the game fair, I have seen this happen, it is mainly a issue when Admins are not in the server and it becomes a hard situation to deal with. If you do see Admins in the server and the game is unfair (score wise) and they haven't scrambled the Teams to attempt to make it fair, please submit a report to either myself or Toan @Welcome to ClanVPP. It is the Admin's duty to make the server as fair as possible so all Players can enjoy, we are a pub server not a full on competitive server. Also bare in mind, some maps are just Team sided for example, Inferno is always CT sided and even scrambling the best players still does not help from one side dominating the entire match.
