Phone Shopping Help PLZ

Recommended Posts

Aight guys I know a lot of you are really smarter outside of the game compared to in-game, help me out. I will never get any apple products btw, so the options I've been looking at are google Pixel, Samsung S8, Nexus 6P(cause it's cheaper than em all) I've been reading a lot of reviews and I only read the negative ones to see what kind of problems come up and so far Pixel is beginning to sound like complete garbage. I don't know what to pick anymore and can't decide if I should just wait till October for the new releases...

Check out MBKHD on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/marquesbrownlee), his reviews are top-notch when it comes to smartphones.

I've held a Nexus 6P before and was really impressed by it's size and build quality. My current phone is the Samsung Galaxy S6, and from what I've heard about the S8, it's definitely going to be a solid phone.

Yea I think the S8 sounds like a good phone. But I would wait til October because the IPhone is supposed to be redesigned because it's their 10 year anniversary. I've never had an IPhone but I might get one if it is to my liking.

I suggest you pick up any Android phone instead of Apple but I'm biased, so it's your choice. I know a couple of my friends are waiting for the new S8, HTC, and OnePlus phones. I haven't done a lot of research lately into phones since my HTC One M8 is still working perfectly fine. Keep in mind that these companies (not Apple) also have low-mid tier phones that aren't normally advertised. So if you're in a tight money situation or don't want to spend extra on better specs, you can start looking into that as well.

i looked into that too and based off some of the negative reviews after people owned it for a few months and the price for it, i just didnt feel it was worth paying that much for the problems that was reported about software bugs and flaws with the engineering of the phone

If you specifically look for negative reviews, you will easily find them for every phone. You'll see when the oneplus5 comes out. The reviews for the Pixel have been overwhelmingly positive from what I can tell. For software bugs, the first phone that google would release a software patch for would be for their own flagship phone. If you happen to get a defective product, you can always send it back for a replacement under warranty.

Super late, but might as well post if anyone else is looking for a new phone. The Nexus line is too overpriced compared to what it was before the 5s and 6p. When looking for a phone don't always go for the flagships - sure the Nexus line gets updated first, but so what? Updates that are just released often have bugs that take weeks to fix.

I held off making a detailed post here because I wanted to wait until after I bought this new phone - the ZTE Axon 7, released around 1 1/2 years ago. Around $499 CAD, it's well worth the price. The battery life lasts well through the day as a medium-heavy user, and I often end up having >50% battery life left after the day has finished. With 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage it's a fast phone, and although it sports Snapdragon 820, the phone remains fast even with an excessive amount of apps open. The 20MP back camera and 8MP front camera are amazing as well, but like most budget phones the night-time performance is pretty terrible. Overall a phone I recommend time and time again.

A more expensive phone that is getting great reviews lately is the LG G6, although because I haven't used one before and have only ogled the specs it isn't in my place to say much about it.

The Nexus series is dead since it's officially moving on towards the Pixel series. As soon as my HTC One M8 dies, I'm immediately switching to one of these phones.

OnePlus5 (Best quality for the best price) = $480 - $550

Pixel Series (If you're interested in a fancy phone) = $500 - $700
